Patch-Notes (English)
Network & Performance

The game’s network code has been completely reworked and modernized.
Previously, the networking system was based on a very outdated architecture dating back to the early 2000s. Communication between the client and server has been fundamentally improved and now runs on a significantly more modern technical foundation.
DirectX11 & Graphics

The graphics code has undergone another extensive overhaul. Numerous internal systems and processes have been optimized to significantly improve overall performance, particularly FPS.
Depending on the hardware being used, we have observed substantial performance improvements. In many cases, FPS has nearly doubled, while other systems and hardware configurations have seen improvements of approximately 30–60%.
During our tests, we were able to increase performance from approximately 200 FPS to around 400 FPS under comparable visual conditions and across different graphics settings.
Without additional DirectX11 graphical effects enabled, the base graphics can reach up to approximately 1,000 FPS in some cases, depending on the hardware.
Note: The more frames the game generates, the higher the load on your graphics card or integrated graphics chip. If you are reaching very high FPS, we therefore recommend limiting the maximum framerate in the game options.

We are continuously working on improving and modernizing the game’s visuals without completely moving away from its familiar visual style.
From a technical perspective, it would certainly be possible to redesign the graphics much more extensively or even give the game a completely new visual appearance. However, we do not want to lose the familiar charm and original atmosphere of the game.
For this reason, the new DirectX11 graphical features are generally optional. Every player can decide which visual improvements they would like to enable and how modern or classic they want the game to look.
The rendering distance of the game world can now be individually adjusted through the DirectX11 options. Real Lighting does not need to be enabled for this feature, unlike some other graphical options.
This includes:
- Objects
- Monsters
- Fog / View Distance
Players who prefer to play without fog are also recommended to enable the FoV Shader option, which has already been available for quite some time.

A new graphical water system has been added and can be enabled through the DirectX11 options.
The quality and intensity of water reflections can be adjusted individually.
The “Ultra” setting additionally enables reflections of characters and monsters on the water surface.

Graphically reworked clouds have been added and can be enabled through the DirectX11 options.

Godrays / Lightrays for the sun and moon have been added.
The intensity of the effect can be adjusted directly in the game options.
