Will the main server stay as it is – or are we sacrificing it for Genesis?
The main server will remain and will continue to receive events and seasonal activities during Genesis.
There is no wipe and no hidden “restart through the back door”.
- Your currency, your equipment and your progress on the main server remain intact.
- Genesis runs in parallel and will be integrated into the main server after around five months – your main character is unaffected by that.
Is Genesis just a “speed server” or test server that gets thrown away afterwards?
Genesis is not a throwaway speed server. It is time-limited, but fully integrated into our project.
It serves as a controlled fresh start with a clear runtime and a firmly planned merge into the main server.
- Your characters, your gear, and your invested time will be carried over – only specific currencies (e.g. Perin/ECP) will be deliberately reset on merge.
- Genesis is an expansion chapter, not a separate second server that simply disappears at some point.
Will there be active work on a main server update while Genesis is running?
Yes. Genesis is specifically intended to give us and you breathing room for a larger, cleaner main server update.
- While Genesis is running, the team is working in the background on a substantial content update for the main server which goes far beyond normal patches.
- We don’t have to “cram content in between”, but can plan, test, and connect it to your Genesis experiences in a calm and structured way.
- This time also serves as a buffer for the team – we are not a full-time studio with no private life, and we want to avoid stress and half-finished solutions.
At the end of Genesis there will not only be the merge, but also a large main server update that benefits directly from the data collected and your feedback.
Can you donate on Genesis? Won’t that become pay2win?
You can donate separately on Genesis – but:
- On Genesis there are only Blue Diamonds, which are completely separate from the Red Diamonds on the main server.
- No one can buy advantages on Genesis with main-server donations.
- The shop on Genesis is deliberately structured differently: many things are easier to farm and tailored to the temporary nature of the server.
- After the merge all Blue Diamonds from Genesis will be converted into Red Diamonds on the main server, so your currency will not be wasted.
Will big donators have a “crazy” advantage on Genesis?
Donations will always provide some advantage – otherwise we couldn’t finance the server permanently.
A long-term project like Entropia comes with ongoing costs: marketing, infrastructure, larger server capacities,
external support from freelancers, continuous development and much more. We’re not planning for 1–2 months,
but for many years – and that’s exactly why we need a stable foundation to support the server long term.
At the same time there have always been – and still are – many players on the main server who have reached endgame
and some of the strongest characters without ever donating – only through time, knowledge,
teamwork and smart investment of their in-game resources.
Nonetheless, the advantage from pure donations on Genesis will remain deliberately limited:
- The most important advantages come from time, knowledge, teamwork and smart investments, not just from purchased currency.
- Currencies such as Perin/ECP will be deliberately reset on merge, while real progression (gear, upgrades, builds) remains.
- The shop on Genesis is designed so that many things are farmable – a pure “money-only advantage” without gameplay isn’t worth it in the long run.
Genesis is meant to remain fair – and at the same time provide the basis for Entropia to continue and grow as a long-term project.
I have a job, family & little time – won’t I fall hopelessly behind?
Genesis is not meant to be a “no-life mandatory grind”.
- Rates are increased, certain dungeons are capped, and content is released in milestones – no one can “finish everything” in week one.
- With more active players there will naturally be more leveling services, more trading, and often cheaper entry-level prices.
- If you have a few days with less time, you can still catch up comfortably – and if you’re not in the mood for Genesis or are waiting for the next milestone, you can simply continue playing on the main server as usual.
What exactly happens to my characters after the merge?
Your main server characters remain untouched, and Genesis characters are transferred in a controlled way.
- Main server: Your existing characters keep their currency, equipment and all their progress.
- Genesis: Your characters will be transferred to the main server – including gear, upgrades, fashion, collections and almost all items.
- Only some major farm currencies (Perin, Black Perin, Entropia Chips, Entropia Chip Perin) will be deliberately removed to prevent a money flood.
- If you use the same account, you will simply have more character slots on that account after the merge – but you can also play Genesis on a separate account if you prefer.
What if I just don’t like the whole concept?
To be completely honest: we know that some of you will love Genesis, while others will feel skeptical or even opposed to the concept – that’s normal with a step of this size.
- The main server remains the heart of the project and your progress there is not devalued.
- You don’t have to move to the event server if you don’t want a fresh start – you can continue playing on the main server as usual.
- In the long term, you still benefit: through better balance, clearer progression, a more stable economy, and a larger main server update that builds on the five months of Genesis.
Genesis is not an “either-or”, but an additional chapter: those who want the event server can dive in fully.
Those who prefer to stay on the main server keep their value – and will later feel the benefits of the reworked overall concept.
